Brooklyn Peltz Beckham Claps Back at Narrative Wife Nicola Peltz Beckham “Controls” Him

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham is standing by his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, as he shares the details of his ongoing rift with his parents, David and Victoria Beckham. He asserts that he has no desire to reconcile with them, and shuts down speculation that his relationship with Nicola had anything to do with his decision to distance himself from his family.

"The narrative that my wife controls me is completely incorrect," he shared in a January 19 post on his Instagram Stories. "I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life."

Brooklyn further notes that his upbringing has influenced how he and Nicola, 31, plan to approach their own household. "My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation," he continued. "All we want is peace, privacy, and happiness for us and our future family."

As Brooklyn explains, "I'm not being controlled; I'm standing up for myself for the first time in my life."

In another part of his lengthy social media post, Brooklyn accuses his parents—who also share children Romeo, 23, Cruz, 20, and Harper, 14—of trying to "ruin" his romance with Nicola before they exchanged vows in 2022, despite his attempts to unite his family.

"My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we've tried to come together as one," he alleged. "My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable."

Brooklyn also recalls feeling humiliated during his wedding day when Victoria, 51, allegedly "hijacked" the couple's first dance. "In front of our 500 wedding guests, Marc Anthony called me to the stage where it was planned to be my romantic dance with my wife but instead my mum was waiting to dance with me," he recalled. "She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I've never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life."

However, since cutting ties with Victoria and David, 50, Brooklyn reports feeling a significant shift in his overall well-being. He remarks that his "overwhelming anxiety" has vanished. "For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared," he wrote. "I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose and have found peace and relief."
