Caleb McLaughlin, who is best known for portraying Lucas Sinclair in the beloved series "Stranger Things," has expressed his ardent desire to join the illustrious ranks of the superhero universe by portraying a particularly iconic character: Miles Morales, the latest iteration of Spider-Man. This particular Spidey hero, whose debut on the big screen was in 2002, embodies a new generation and represents the Afro-Latino identity hailing from the Bronx, New York.

In an interview with Variety, McLaughlin revealed his fascination with Morales, stating, "I would love to play Miles. I think Miles represents something bigger than myself; it represents something bigger than most people." This sentiment is further reinforced by their shared background as both being hailing from the Bronx. "Also, being from New York [McLaughlin grew up in the Bronx] and having witnessed the Spider-Verse story, I feel a deep connection to it, and I believe many others can relate to it."
Despite McLaughlin's expressed interest in portraying this character, Sony, which is currently developing a live-action film, has yet to announce any casting decisions. In the meantime, in the animated "Spider-Verse" franchise, Shameik Moore provided the voice for Morales.
In essence, McLaughlin's desire to embody Miles Morales not only stems from his admiration for the character's representation but also from his personal connection to the story and its roots in New York City.
