Candace Cameron Bure Candidly Addresses Her Public Feuds and Controversies

Candace Cameron Bure has found a new approach to dealing with online controversies, putting an end to her past feuds. The Full House star, who has been embroiled in multiple clashes over the years, including those with JoJo Siwa and Jodie Sweetin, admitted on the Stay True podcast on November 17th, "I usually don't fight back in the comments because nothing really comes from it. I feel like when you fight back in the comments, it becomes defensive. I feel like the more people defend themselves, the less integrity it holds."

The 49-year-old joked that many of the feuds she's been involved in were often "just weird," though she believes "they weren't a feud on my end." But now, Candace lets "God fight my battles a lot online," and she also allows "the other people who are genuine fans to fight my battles for me." She explained, "Because sometimes they come in and say, 'She doesn't do that. That's not what she meant by that.'"

For the Fuller House alum, who shares kids Natasha, 27, Lev, 25, and Maksim, 23, with husband Valeri Bure, it takes a lot of "self-control" not to constantly respond. "You're like, 'God, I just have to let that go because I'm not gonna please everybody, and just help me walk my walk that is honoring and pleasing to you as best as I can. Help me learn and discern,'" she shared. "That's the biggest thing."

It also requires "a lot of patience" for her as well as "grace for people." She continued, "I pray the Holy Spirit gives me self-control every day, especially in those situations, because it feels brutal because you can't win. You can't please both sides—you just can't. So there has to be a point in your life where you just let it go."

While Candace didn't specifically mention any of her previous feuds, her former Full House costar Jodie recently addressed the issues they've had with each other concerning their views on the LGBTQ+ community. According to Jodie, there's no real beef between them. "We've always been very different on those things," the 43-year-old explained on The Vault with Monica & Amir podcast in April. "I think it was just now all of that sort of comes to the surface."
