Cardi B has undeniably been through a whirlwind of activity in recent months, and unfortunately, it seems her break is nowhere in sight. According to In Touch Weekly, the vibrant femcee is set to face a court trial on May 12, following a lawsuit filed by Emani Ellis, a former security guard at a Beverly Hills medical office. The lawsuit revolves around an alleged incident that transpired in 2018 during Cardi's visit to her OB-GYN.

Cardi, the rapper behind the hit "Enough," claims that Ellis began filming her, despite the fact that her pregnancy had not yet been publicly announced. Her lawyer asserts, "[Cardi] requested that Ellis put her phone away because [Cardi’s] pregnancy was still under wraps." From there, the situation rapidly deteriorated, with both parties presenting vastly differing narratives. Cardi maintains her innocence, insisting she never laid a hand on Ellis. Conversely, Ellis alleges that she was struck in the face, head, and body, spat upon, injured by sharp objects and long fingernails, and subjected to a barrage of obscenities and racial slurs.

As the trial looms, Cardi and her legal team are gearing up for what lies ahead. Recently, they submitted a motion requesting the judge to preclude any mention of specific facets of her past, including her history as a stripper, alleged gang affiliations, drug-related accusations, and more. They contend that bringing up these matters could be a strategic move to prejudice the jury. They argue, "There exists a grave risk that the jury will perceive... that [Cardi] is a ‘bad person’ and will improperly punish her on that basis." As of this writing, the judge has yet to deliver a verdict on the motion.

Moreover, Cardi is entangled in another battle, this time with her ex, Offset. The two decided to part ways last summer, and their divorce proceedings have taken a tumultuous turn. For instance, last month, Cardi accused the former Migos member of threatening her, harassing her, and more, adding fuel to the already fiery situation.
