Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, unleashed a fiery storm on social media that provoked reactions from the likes of Playboi Carti, Jim Jones, and Cardi B. On March 18th, West embarked on a volatile rant on platform X, much of which was swiftly erased. In this fiery onslaught, he vented his fury towards his frequent collaborator, Playboi Carti, employing a derogatory homophobic term and accusing him of domestic abuse.
"Iggy, I apologize for mentioning your child. That was some Carti-like behavior," West penned, alluding to his recent spat with Iggy Azalea over their son, Onyx. He then intensified his accusations against Carti, asserting, "Carti beats women. He advised me to cease tweeting about Nazis. Why do financially struggling men always attempt to dictate my actions? Oh, I forgot—the industry permits murder ballads but censors Carti's advice to me." He crudely added, "Carti beats women. I've beaten women too. Yet, everyone hates Diddy."
West also lambasted Carti for seeking a collaboration with his daughter, North, and alleged that he was barred from featuring on Carti's latest album, Music. In retaliation, Carti succinctly tweeted, "Ye, shut up."
Jim Jones also found himself ensnared in West's verbal tempest, despite their recent camaraderie in Japan. "Fuck Jim Jones," West posted, before elaborating, "This might sound like a scene from a Tarantino film, but here it goes. Jim Jones pocketed $2 million for introducing me to a man named Mr. Pink to discuss my crypto coin, never disclosing his commission. He never shared the wealth. But that wasn't even the low point."
West then mocked Jones over a separate issue involving a fashion collaboration, stating, "We were collaborating on designs, and I requested a PDF from him. This guy claims he doesn't know how to create a PDF. Get one of your young guns to do it, Capo. I genuinely admire Jim Jones, and I'll never fully Ye-ify my criticism of him, but I crave that PDF more than the money."
Jones chose not to escalate the dispute, simply responding, "I love Kanye."
West then shifted his focus to the leading ladies of hip-hop, making controversial assertions about their careers. "Cardi B succeeded Nicki Minaj. Meg Thee Stallion overthrew Cardi B. Doja Cat dethroned Meg Thee Stallion. Doechii replaced Doja Cat after Doja's Nazi controversy. Funny how similar Doja and Doechii's names sound."
He continued, targeting Lizzo, saying, "They paraded Lizzo as the poster child for Black obesity. I'm genuinely proud of Lizzo—she's an extraordinary talent who has taken control of her life."
West then dismissed Cardi B entirely, questioning her long-term relevance. "Where will Cardi B be in ten years? They've already used her up."
Cardi didn't respond directly but posted defiantly, "Seven years, one album… Still a hot topic and still in demand for my music! I'm anointed, and I possess a loyal fanbase. They come and go, but The Brim remains and will endure!"
Meanwhile, 50 Cent, one of the few individuals West praised in his tirade, expressed concern. Sharing West's post, he wrote on Instagram, "Damn it, Ye, you're dangerous right now. What you're saying about the kids, man?" referring to West's astonishing remarks about JAY-Z and Beyoncé's twins, Rumi and Sir.
West's latest meltdown merely adds to his burgeoning list of erratic public outbursts, leaving fans and peers alike wondering what he will do next.
