Channing Tatum Undergoes Surgery for Separated Shoulder

Published: Feb 05 2026

Channing Tatum is bracing himself for the operation room. The "Roofman" star revealed that he recently underwent surgery to fix a separated shoulder, which he candidly described as "just another day" with "another challenge." Despite his candid admission in his Feb. 4 Instagram post that "This one is gonna be hard. But whatever. Let’s get it in," the accompanying black and white photo showed Channing leaning against a hospital bed, dressed in a gown and hair net, as he waited for his procedure—which ultimately went successfully.

In a series of x-ray images shared on his Story, the 45-year-old—who did not disclose how he sustained his shoulder injury—showed how the joint had separated and then how his medical team had rectified the injury during surgery. "Screwed shoulder," Channing captioned the second x-ray, which indeed showed a screw holding the bones together. "Yay."

The "Step Up" alum's post was soon flooded with well wishes from fans and peers alike, with fellow actor LaKeith Stanfield cheering him on with a muscle emoji and red heart.

But Channing isn't the only celebrity navigating scary injuries. Just days before the 2026 Olympics Opening Ceremony, American skier Lindsey Vonn—for whom Milano Cortina marks a return to the Games after retiring years earlier—shared that she had suffered a ruptured ACL while skiing at the World Cup.

Yet the 41-year-old isn't going to let her ACL—and the accompanying bone bruise and meniscal tears—stop her from hitting the Olympic slopes. "After extensive consultations with doctors, intense therapy, physical tests, as well as skiing today, I have determined I am capable of competing in the Olympic Downhill on Sunday," Lindsey shared on Instagram Feb. 3. "Of course, I will still need to do one training run, as is required to race on Sunday, but... I am confident in my body's ability to perform."

"I know what my chances in these Olympics were before this crash, and even though my chances aren't the same now, there is still a chance," she continued. "And as long as I have a chance, I will not lose hope. I will not give up! It's not over yet!"
