On Friday, October 25th, Chappell Roan found herself face-to-face with a photographer on the red carpet whom she had previously encountered under unpleasant circumstances. Attending the Los Angeles premiere of Netflix's "Olivia Rodrigo: Guts World Tour" film, set to release on October 28th, Roan, the talented singer-songwriter behind "Good Luck, Babe!", pointed directly and declared, "You," before marching purposefully towards the photographer she recognized.
"You were incredibly disrespectful to me at the Grammys," Roan stated firmly, as clips of the encounter began to circulate on social media the following day. The photographer in question remained off-camera.
"You shouted at me at a Grammy party," Roan continued, not one to shy away from establishing boundaries with those who cross her path. "I remember vividly. You were so rude to me. And for that, I deserve an apology... You owe me an apology."
Roan, who had the honor of being a special guest on Rodrigo's Guts Tour, performing "Hot to Go" together, and had previously served as an opening act for Rodrigo's show, had already demonstrated her willingness to speak her mind to another red carpet photographer at the VMAs last month. When the individual behind the lens shouted for the pop star to "Shut up," Roan responded with, "You shut up," wagging a finger and adding, "Not me, buddy."
Rodrigo spoke highly of Roan on the red carpet for the "Guts" concert film premiere on Friday, sharing in an interview with Billboard, "She gives me so much advice on self-care and staying true to myself in this overwhelming industry. I truly appreciate her. As for advice I might give her, I'm not so sure. But I definitely learn a lot from her."
Below, witness a clip of Roan's confrontation with the photographer on Friday.
