On Monday, Charlie Puth voiced his strong condemnation of Kanye West's Super Bowl advertisement, penning an urgent plea on social media that labeled West's message as "alarmingly perilous." "Please, my friend, I implore you to halt this course," Puth earnestly entreated in an Instagram Story.
During the Super Bowl's closing moments on Sunday, West starred in an advertisement that steered fans towards the website of his Yeezy brand. Initially showcasing a variety of products available for purchase on the day of its debut, the website had, by Monday morning,Reduced to a lone article of clothing: a T-shirt, its fabric adorned with a prominent swastika, standing out starkly.
"You wield immense influence over millions," Puth continued passionately. "I beg of you, with all sincerity, to desist. PLEASE."
The Anti-Defamation League also responded to West's stunt on Monday, releasing a statement filled with disdain. "As if we needed further evidence of Kanye's antisemitic leanings, he chose to showcase a single item for sale on his website—a swastika-emblazoned T-shirt," their statement read. "The swastika, adopted by Hitler as the Nazi Party's primary emblem, rallied his followers in the 20th century and continues to terrify and strike fear into the hearts of those targeted by antisemitism and white supremacy. Moreover, the T-shirt, labeled 'HH-01' on Kanye's website, stands as a coded reference to 'Heil Hitler.' Kanye has been tweeting vile antisemitic remarks incessantly since last week. There is no justification for such conduct. Even more egregious, Kanye advertised his website during the Super Bowl, expanding his already vast social media reach."
The Super Bowl advertisement seemed to be a locally purchased spot and did not air nationally. It was reportedly "paid for by Yeezy LLC" and rerun on Fox later on Sunday, approximately two hours after the game concluded.
This back-and-forth exchange transpired mere days after West's controversial appearance at the 2025 Grammy Awards, where he arrived with his wife, Bianca Censori, who unveiled a black coat to reveal a sheer dress with no underwear underneath. West later came to his wife's defense regarding her attire. Although subsequent reports emerged claiming that Censori had sought assistance on social media, the model's representative denied these assertions.
