Charlie Puth is eagerly preparing for the launch of his upcoming album, "Whatever's Clever!" In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the multi-talented singer-songwriter reminisced about the moment he revealed that his hit single "Hero" would be a part of the record and candidly admitted that he might have gotten ahead of himself a bit. "I think I sometimes just get carried away by my own enthusiasm," Puth began. "At that point, I wasn't ready to release an album... I took a step back, sat with myself, and thought, 'Maybe it's time for me to, for the first time in my career, actually create an album from scratch.'"

The music superstar further elaborated that until now, his creative process had always been more reactive than intentional. "I've never sat down and said, 'Let's create an album and release it,'" he shared. "It's always been, 'The song is doing well, let's put it out.' And while I'm doing radio promotions and TV appearances, I'm going back to my hotel room and working on an album."
However, with "Whatever's Clever!," Puth claims his approach has finally shifted. "This album, 'Whatever's Clever!,' is the first time where I actually sat down and had a lot of time on my hands," he explained. "I stayed with myself and [producer] BloodPop, and created a full body of work. So I wasn't chasing my tail – but it’s been almost a decade of chasing my tail."
