At her annual Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project Block Party, the illustrious star weighed in on the prequel 'Furiosa,' an event that not only supported her organization but also celebrated the creative minds behind 'Twisters.' On Saturday, Charlize Theron graced the fourth annual block party, where she also shared her heartfelt thoughts on 'Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.' Released in late May, the film served as a compelling prelude to the 2015 hit 'Mad Max: Fury Road,' showcasing Anya Taylor-Joy's portrayal of the early life of the warrior Imperator Furiosa, a role Theron herself had brought to life in 'Fury Road.'

Theron confirmed that she had watched the new movie and exclaimed to The Hollywood Reporter, "It's breathtaking, a work of cinematic art." When asked about her interactions with Taylor-Joy throughout the process or since its release, Theron laughed and said, "We've been trying to connect, but it's been a comedy of errors. We keep running into each other in places where there's no time for a proper chat. We always say, 'We'll meet up soon!' but life has its own agenda. We'll catch up when the stars align."

For now, Theron's heart lies with CTAOP, the organization she founded in 2007 to safeguard the health and safety of South Africa's youth. Born in South Africa, Theron's CTAOP has reached over 4 million young people since its inception, focusing on HIV/AIDS, sexual and reproductive health, education, and gender-based violence. Reflecting on the last 17 years, Theron said, "I wish I had been more patient, understanding that change doesn't happen overnight. It was overwhelming initially, dealing with such vast issues. But we've evolved, becoming more holistic in our approach, realizing that there's a multitude of factors to consider when it concerns our youth."

The Universal Studios backlot came alive on Saturday with the block party, supporting CTAOP while also marking the release of 'Twisters.' The event was a celebration of the film, with director Lee Isaac Chung and stars Glen Powell, Daisy Edgar-Jones, and Brandon Perea in attendance. Theron expressed her gratitude to the 'Twisters' team, saying, "I know you've been on a marathon press tour, traversing a vast desert of interviews. I've been there; it's exhausting. But thank you for dedicating your time and energy to be here tonight. Your hard work is admirable, and I appreciate it."

Chung, taking the stage, said, "Your words deeply touch me, but we're here because we admire the work you do with CTAOP. Movies are meant to bring joy and positivity to people's lives, and that's what we aim to achieve with 'Twisters.' We want to create a summer celebration, and this party feels like the perfect fit."

The evening was further enlivened by performances from Lainey Wilson and Tanner Adell, whose songs feature in the film. The backlot was transformed into a 'Twisters'-themed wonderland, complete with a wind machine that Powell and Edgar-Jones bravely tested, and a mechanical bull. The CTAOP Block Party was graciously sponsored by Dior, CAA, Breitling, Universal Pictures, and Solyco Capital.
