Chevy Chase has opened up about his exclusion from Saturday Night Live's 50th-anniversary celebration, revealing that he felt "hurt" by the omission. The 82-year-old actor and original cast member of the iconic sketch comedy series shares in the upcoming CNN Films documentary, I’m Chevy Chase and You’re Not, his disappointment at not being included in the SNL50: The Anniversary Special.

"Well, it was quite upsetting, actually," Chase confesses. "This is probably the first time I'm saying it out loud. But I expected that I would've been on the stage with all the other actors."

Chase admits that the appearance of other cast members left him confused and left out. "When Garrett [Morris] and Laraine [Newman] took to the stage, I couldn't help but wonder why I wasn't there. No one asked me. Why was I left aside?"

He also questions his absence from the popular Weekend Update segment. "Why was Bill Murray there and why wasn't I? I don't have an answer for that."

Chase further shares that he raised the issue with SNL creator Lorne Michaels. "I did bring it up once in a text to Lorne and then took it back," he says, adding, "But it's not that silly... They should've had me on that stage. It hurt."

For those who may not be familiar, Chase was a part of SNL from its 1975 debut and was the show's first Weekend Update anchor.
