As "Hacks" embarks on its fifth season, it carries with it the glow of two recent Emmy wins at the 2025 awards ceremony. Jean Smart and Hannah Einbinder took home the coveted titles of Best Comedy Actress and Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, respectively. Smart and Einbinder are set to return for the fifth season, alongside a stellar ensemble including Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato, and Rose Abdoo.

Reflecting on the conclusion of the Jenny Han-created series alongside co-star Lola Tung, Briney opened up about his newfound status as an "it boy" in a candid conversation with The Hollywood Reporter. When asked how he handles the fanfare that comes with being the male lead in a hit show, Briney responded with a laugh, "I don't really feel it. I tend to steer clear of most people and social media as much as possible. That's partly why people can so easily blur the lines between you and your character. I'm aware [of the attention] because I've heard that the support from fans has been overwhelming, and I truly appreciate that. But with every positive, there's always a negative. And I'm not a fan of any of that, so I just focus on doing my own thing."

"Hacks" is the brainchild of Paul W. Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky, who also serve as showrunners. The executive producer lineup is equally impressive, featuring Downs, Aniello, Statsky, Michael Schur, David Miner, Morgan Sackett, Joe Mande, Aisha Muharrar, Nate Young, and Ashley Glazier.
