Here we embark on a new journey – Coco Jones is stepping into the aisle of wedded bliss. The enchanting vocalist behind the hit "ICU" has got engaged to the talented basketball player of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Donovan Mitchell, as the lovebirds announced on July 11. Coco graced Instagram with a snap of herself passionately kissing Donovan, her diamond engagement ring gleaming, while the NBA sensation shared a drone footage of his heartfelt proposal.
In the footage, Donovan led Coco to the tranquil pool of their oceanfront resort, where he gracefully knelt down to propose. As the Grammy Award winner enthusiastically said yes, the pair indulged in a prolonged embrace, while the nearby palm trees swayed gently in the breeze, witnessing their love story unfold.
The couple, Coco, 27, and Donovan, 28, have been discreetly nurturing their romance for two years, as revealed by their representative to People magazine. Their public romance first sparked rumors in the summer of 2024 when Coco cheered Donovan on at the Paris Olympics. They were then spotted holding hands at an Usher concert in September, further fuelling the speculation.
However, Coco, the former Disney Channel star, only publicly acknowledged their relationship earlier this year, jokingly hinting that fans had "definitely caught the scent of my tea." "I’m happy," Coco confessed to Club Shay Shay in March. "And I use my music as a medium to share most of my stories and truths, but some things I keep close to my heart because this is my life too."
Explaining that she wasn't deliberately concealing her love affair with the athlete, Coco continued, "Secrecy is not my cup of tea. I don’t want to feel like I have to shroud my relationship in secrecy. I don’t want to make anyone feel possessed by me." The Bel-Air actress added thoughtfully, "For me, I’m striving to shield myself, my family, and those I cherish, so I choose to keep some aspects of my life more private."
