Jin, better known by his real name Kim Seok-jin, wasn't the solitary BTS member to steal the spotlight at Coldplay's recent concert in South Korea. On the fateful night of Friday, April 25th, The Astronaut vocalist graced the stage once again alongside the iconic British rock band, harmonizing and grooving in tandem with the band's charismatic frontman, Chris Martin. Yet, the 32-year-old Jin wasn't the sole BTS star casting his magic at the Goyang Stadium; the septet's charismatic leader RM, whose given name is Kim Nam-joon, also made a surprise appearance amidst the cheering crowd, igniting a mini-reunion that thrilled fans.
RM's presence in the audience was nothing short of electrifying, as the eldest member of the Korean band mischievously hinted at a BTS reunion once all its members had fulfilled their mandatory military service duties. With an exuberant spirit, Jin declared, "BTS will be back soon," igniting the crowd's enthusiasm. Martin, 48, echoed Jin's sentiments, stating, "Coldplay is bidding Korea farewell, but BTS will soon return, and that's wonderful news indeed." In a playful confession, Martin admitted, "Folks are only tuning into our show because you guys aren't available right now," adding a light-hearted twist to the already exhilarating moment.
It's noteworthy that RM took a break from his duties to attend the Coldplay concert. Alongside him, Suga, V, Jungkook, and Jimin continue to serve their mandatory military service. Among them, Jin was the first member to be discharged in June 2024, closely followed by J-Hope, who completed his service on April 15th, 2024, setting the stage for the eventual reunion of the beloved band.
