Earlier on Friday, it emerged that Luca Guadagnino was in the final stages of negotiations to direct a fresh film adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis' 1991 novel, 'American Psycho,' for Lionsgate. The original 2000 film, starring Christian Bale as the enigmatic investment banker and apparent serial killer, Bateman, left a lasting impression.

"I've yet to embody a serial killer, so I believe I'd be capable," Koch added, highlighting the surge of acting opportunities he's been receiving since the release of his Netflix series just weeks ago. "Opportunities are knocking, developments are underway, meetings are being held, and the needle is threading its way through. We'll just have to wait and see; nothing's set in stone yet."

Koch also expressed his admiration for Guadagnino's recent Amazon film, 'Challengers,' starring Zendaya, Josh O'Connor, and Mike Faist, which premiered in theaters this spring. Koch praised it as his favorite movie of the year, playfully remarking, "I'm a huge fan of gay tennis dramas."

Guadagnino's upcoming film, 'Queer,' starring Daniel Craig, is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 27 by A24. Meanwhile, the filmmaker is busy in post-production on 'After the Hunt,' featuring Julia Roberts and Andrew Garfield.

Scott Z. Burns is penning the script for the new 'American Psycho,' produced by Frenesy Films. It's been emphasized that this adaptation won't be a remake of the first film but rather a fresh interpretation of the novel. Sam Pressman of Pressman Films, whose father, Edward R. Pressman, produced the 2000 movie, is executive producing this new version.
