Ahead of the highly anticipated performance in "Wicked: For Good," Cynthia Erivo had ample opportunity to pay homage to Elphaba's iconic verdigris hue, embodying the essence of the queen of hearts in a stunning black and red Givenchy gown. Designed by the creative genius of Sarah Burton, the regal attire worn by the "Wicked" actress boasted a ruby-crystal adorned corset, dramatic shoulders that soared to her ears, and an intricately lace-up back. Beneath the gown, black micro shorts revealed the Broadway star's striking thigh tattoos, while the high-low black tulle skirt cascaded gracefully, adorned with a luxurious trailing train.

To complete her mesmerizing ensemble, Erivo donned knee-high lace-up boots and a coordinating handbag, accentuating her signature talon-like nails adorned with sparkling crystals and beads. Her Met Gala beauty look, crafted by makeup artist Joanna Simkin using solely Clinique products, was complemented by a delicate black heart artfully painted on her right cheekbone, adding a whimsical touch to her sophisticated ensemble.

Erivo will soon take center stage as Jesus in a special production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" at the Hollywood Bowl, alongside Adam Lambert as Judas, from August 1st to 3rd. The Met Gala, the annual fundraising extravaganza of The Metropolitan Museum of Art, celebrates the Costume Institute's spring fashion exhibition. The 2025 exhibit, titled "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," draws inspiration from Monica L. Miller's seminal 2009 book, "Slaves to Fashion: Black Dandyism and the Styling of Black Diasporic Identity." In keeping with the evening's theme, guests and celebrity stylists were tasked with interpreting the dress code, "Tailored for you," with creativity and flair.

This year's Met Gala was co-chaired by Vogue's Anna Wintour, Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, A$AP Rocky, and Williams, while LeBron James, though unable to attend, was honored as the honorary chair.
