In the aftermath of this harrowing discovery, her family described her as a "cherished daughter, sister, cousin, and friend" in their memories. "As many of you are aware, Celeste Rivas Hernandez has been identified as the body found last week," read a statement posted on a GoFundMe page established on September 17. "Her family is shattered and devastated by this tragic loss. They are reaching out for assistance to give her a proper farewell."

According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office, the cause of Rivas Hernandez's death remains undetermined due to the "severe decomposition" of her body. Police stumbled upon her remains while responding to reports of a noxious odor emanating from the Tesla, which had reportedly been abandoned in the Hollywood Hills and sat in the tow yard for several days.

Rivas Hernandez was initially reported missing over a year ago on April 5, 2024, in Lake Elsinore, California, a city roughly 70 miles southeast of Los Angeles. E! News has reached out to D4vd's representative for a comment but has yet to receive a response. However, his spokesperson informed NBC News that the 20-year-old artist has been made aware of the situation and is "cooperating fully with the authorities."

At the time of Rivas Hernandez's body being discovered, D4vd was in the midst of his U.S. tour, promoting his debut album Withered. He canceled his September 17 show in Seattle, with his next tour date scheduled for September 19 in San Francisco.

On September 17, police conducted a search at a residence near where D4vd's Tesla was reported abandoned, according to NBC News. The "Here With Me" singer does not own the property, but law enforcement sources told ABC News that he had allegedly been staying there prior to embarking on his tour.
