Damson Idris, having shared the screen with Brad Pitt in the star-studded F1 film, has now set his sights on landing a beloved role in the MCU. The actor has recently been the subject of intense speculation regarding his potential portrayal of T'Challa, a character immortalized by the late Chadwick Boseman, in the upcoming Black Panther 3.

During an appearance on the Today show, Idris, who also starred in Outside the Wire, participated in a game where he was asked a series of binary questions about his upcoming career endeavors. Co-anchor Craig Melvin posed the question that was on everyone's mind: "There's buzz in the industry that you might be cast as the next Black Panther. Have you had any discussions about it? Yes or no?"

Idris responded with a playful ambiguity, saying, "Yes-no!" Undeterred, Melvin delved deeper, teasing the 33-year-old actor by suggesting that "yes-no" often translates to "yes." To this, Idris replied with a chuckle, "Uh, it could mean no!" However, Melvin persisted, stating, "It probably means yes. If they asked, would you say yes?"

Without hesitation, Idris responded emphatically, "Yes."

Rumors about Marvel potentially recasting T'Challa first emerged in January, when The InSneider reported that the MCU was contemplating the idea, despite previous statements indicating that they would not recast the role following Boseman's tragic death. In February, Black Panther 3 producer Nate Moore stated that he couldn't confirm or deny whether they were "open to recasting" T'Challa until they had finalized the film's storyline.

While the official announcement for Black Panther 3 is still pending, Idris' new film F1 is set to hit theaters on June 27, promising fans an exhilarating cinematic experience.
