Published: Jul 19 2024

Dan Stevens is embarking on a journey from the esteemed halls of the Earl and Countess of Grantham to the depths of a psychiatric asylum, where madness reigns supreme. The illustrious star of "Downton Abbey" and "Abigail" will helm and executive produce the thrilling third chapter of the horror anthology, "The Terror: Devil in Silver." Accompanying him are the executive producing duo of Chris Cantwell ("Halt and Catch Fire") and Victor LaValle, who penned the original novel that serves as the inspiration for this haunting season. Adding to the stellar team is Karyn Kusama ("Yellowjackets"), who will serve as an executive producer and helm the initial two episodes of the six-episode arc set to premiere in 2025.

In this haunting tale, Stevens portrays Pepper, a blue-collar mover whose ill-fated combination of bad luck and temper lands him in the unwelcome confines of New Hyde Psychiatric Hospital. This institution houses the forgotten souls of society, and Pepper must navigate a labyrinth of patients plotting against him, doctors hiding grim secrets, and possibly, the embodiment of evil itself.

The narrative deepens: "As Pepper traverses this hellish landscape where nothing is as it seems, he realizes that the only path to liberation lies in confronting the entity that feeds on the suffering within New Hyde's walls. But this confrontation may reveal that the worst demons reside within him."

Rounding out the executive producing team are Ridley Scott and David W. Zucker from Scott Free Productions, Alexandra Milchan and Scott Lambert from Emjag Productions, Guymon Casady of Entertainment 360, and Brooke Kennedy.

In a statement, Stevens expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "I am elated to be a part of 'The Terror: Devil in Silver.' This series is a dark concerto of psychological terror and compelling drama, destined to resonate deeply with the audience. Victor LaValle, Christopher Cantwell, and this remarkable team have choreographed a haunting dance of devils and shadows. I eagerly anticipate delivering an epic narrative that will echo through the halls like the tolling of an iron bell."

Recently seen in "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" and lending his voice to "The Boy and the Heron," Stevens will next star in Tilman Singer's "Cuckoo" for Neon. The previous seasons of "The Terror" took us to a British naval expedition trapped in ice on a quest for the Northwest Passage in Season 1 and the harrowing events within a Japanese internment camp during World War II in Season 2. Stevens is represented by CAA, Julian Belfrage Associates, and Peikoff Mahan Law Office.
