Rosanna Arquette is taking the reins to set the record straight when it comes to Daryl Hannah's portrayal in Ryan Murphy's "Love Story." Just days after Daryl publicly slammed the FX series for its inaccurate depiction of her and her relationship with John F. Kennedy Jr., Rosanna came to her friend's defense, labeling the new show as "bullshit."
"I love Daryl Hannah. She's a great woman, a brilliant actor, writer, director, and an environmental activist for years," the "Nowhere to Run" actress wrote in an Instagram post on March 8. "She's also an animal whisperer. Her work in the world has been monumental."

Speaking about the FX show, where Daryl is portrayed by Dree Hemingway, Rosanna stated, "The portrayal of her on that streaming thing is bullshit." The 66-year-old emphasized that Daryl's five-year relationship with JFK Jr. was a happy one—and criticized the show producers for not including more of those positive moments or allegedly consulting the Kennedys.
"Her love with John F. Kennedy Jr. was real and some of the happiest times John F. Kennedy Jr. had—just ask his family," Rosanna wrote. "But no one did."
In the comments section of her post, many stars joined Rosanna in condemning the series and supporting Daryl, including Ione Skye, Griffin Dunne, and Debi Mazar.
"Daryl, the real Daryl Hannah, everyone knows and can tell is all the things you say - she's brilliant," Ione, 55, wrote. "I admire her so much, always have."
Griffin, 70, commended Daryl for her actions, writing, "Daryl was treated horribly but man, can she stick up for herself. Her op-ed in the Times was brilliant and should have shamed everyone responsible for her gross depiction."
And Debi, 61, simply added the "100" emoji with the comment, "Yes."
Rosanna's public display of support comes two days after Daryl's scathing op-ed for The New York Times, in which she slammed the "tragedy-exploiting television series" for the way it depicted her on screen.
"The choice to portray her as irritating, self-absorbed, whiny, and inappropriate was no accident," the 65-year-old wrote in the March 6 piece. "The character 'Daryl Hannah' portrayed in the series is not even a remotely accurate representation of my life, my conduct, or my relationship with John. The actions and behaviors attributed to me are untrue."
Daryl—who had an on-again, off-again relationship with the youngest of John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis' two children from 1988 to 1994—alleged that many of the show's details were inaccurate or defamatory.
"I have never used cocaine in my life or hosted cocaine-fueled parties," she wrote. "I have never pressured anyone into marriage. I have never desecrated any family heirloom or intruded upon anyone's private memorial. I have never planted any story in the press. I never compared Jacqueline Onassis' death to a dog's."
"It's appalling to me that I even have to defend myself against a television show," the "Splash" alum—who has been married to Neil Young since 2018—added. "These are not creative embellishments of personality. They are assertions about conduct—and they are false."
Though there has been significant backlash over the series, Ryan and FX have not publicly commented on the claims. E! News reached out to both parties but has not heard back yet.
