In response to Brooklyn Beckham's candid statement about his parents, David and Victoria, in which he claims they've persistently tried to "ruin" his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham, Rebecca, David's former assistant, shared her thoughts. "I'm so happy he's finally standing up for himself and speaking publicly," Rebecca wrote in the comment section of a recent Instagram post. "I've felt so bad for his poor wife, knowing all too well what they can be like!" When another user commented, "Fascinating admission from Brooklyn," the 48-year-old replied with a red heart emoji, "The truth always comes out."

Rebecca herself has been entangled in her own controversy with the Beckhams. She alleged that she and David, who married Victoria in 1999, had an affair in 2004 after she started working for the soccer star. While David and Victoria have denied any romantic relationship between them, Rebecca has stuck to her story for decades, including as recently as March 2025.

"It was a very brave thing to do, to go up against them," Rebecca told 60 Minutes Australia in an interview at the time. "I've stuck to the truth, I've never exaggerated. I never lied about a single thing. Why? Because I'm going up against the strongest, most powerful couple in the media. And all I had on my side was the truth."

In addition to sharing how and when their alleged affair began—after going to a nightclub together in Spain—Rebecca also explained her decision to come forward with her story when pictures of the pair chatting at the club emerged. "It's better that it comes from me and that I have some sort of control," she explained. "By doing that, it was a way of me, sort of, not getting back at him but...the way he treated me was very unfair, what he was getting away with, and that two-faced life."

"I know how much his image means to him," she added. "I want him to feel some pain too, I guess."

While David and Victoria—who, in addition to Brooklyn, share children Romeo Beckham, 23, Cruz Beckham, 20, and Harper Beckham, 14—have long denied the rumors, they have addressed the strain the speculation had on their marriage.

"There were some horrible stories that were difficult to deal with," David explained in Netflix's 2023 docuseries "Beckham." "It was the first time that me and Victoria had been put under that kind of pressure in our marriage. I don't know how we got through it in all honesty." He continued, "Victoria's everything to me. To see her hurt was incredibly difficult. But we're fighters. And at that time, we needed to fight for each other, we needed to fight for our family. And what we had was worth fighting for."
