David Harbour has recently opened up about his sentiments upon wrapping up the iconic series 'Stranger Things' after a decade-long journey. In a conversation with Scarlett Johansson for Interview Magazine, the talented actress of 'Asteroid City' inquired about David's perspective on the conclusion of the beloved Netflix show.

"When I first embarked on this adventure, I was utterly enchanted," expressed the 50-year-old actor. David recalled how his peers, veterans of the television landscape, had predicted he might bow out by the third or fourth season. But the 'Hellboy' star emphatically replied, "I was having none of that! I hold these characters dear to my heart."

However, David acknowledged reaching a juncture where he pondered the series' longevity. "At some point, you start wondering, 'How much more narrative can we squeeze out of this?' You find yourself replaying the same beats," elaborated the 'Suicide Squad' actor.

David went on to share that there's "a yearning to take a leap of faith, to venture into territories where audiences haven't seen me before." He continued, "So, after a decade, it felt like, 'Alright, it's time.'"

Elsewhere in their discourse, David concurred with Scarlett's belief that being typecast in a single role can restrict one's versatility, as one's identity becomes inextricably linked to the character for an extended period.

"It's akin to this show," he mused, the 'War of the Worlds' actor continuing. "There are seasons when you feel the urge to stray into new avenues." Nevertheless, David reflected, "A part of your psyche becomes entrenched in this ensemble and storyline."

"I might not sport painted nails, but I understand the sentiment of 'I can't get a haircut' or 'I can't shave off this darn mustache,'" he concluded, painting a vivid picture of his dedication and the constraints it imposed.
