Renowned for his role in "The Equalizer," Denzel Washington has been diligent in avoiding a repetition of his earlier faux pas regarding unauthorized revelations about the upcoming sequel to "Black Panther." During a recent interview with ScreenRant's Liam Crowley, conducted to promote his new film "Highest 2 Lowest," the 70-year-old actor was prompted to discuss the ensemble cast and his part in the forthcoming Marvel cinematic endeavor.

Washington responded with a deftly nuanced answer, ensuring that he didn't disclose any unauthorized updates. He simply remarked, "That's a conversation reserved for me and Ryan (Coogler)."

This revelation arrives several months after Washington inadvertently confirmed the existence of a third "Black Panther" installment before it had been officially announced by the filmmakers, a slip-up he promptly realized and deeply regretted. The star of "Gladiator II" swiftly rectified his error by reaching out to director Ryan Coogler to apologize.

"Ryan is a genius," Washington confided to Variety. "I called him to apologize for mentioning the movie, and there, sitting beside him, was his lovely wife. He remains the same humble, idea-laden Ryan. Whatever he pens, I'll eagerly read."

Earlier in June, Ryan Coogler officially acknowledged Denzel Washington's involvement in "Black Panther 3," bringing an end to the actor's earlier unauthorized announcement saga.
