According to the Colorado State Patrol's news release on Tuesday, Potter was driving southbound on I-25 near mile marker 267.5 when his Toyota 4Runner veered off the road, crossed the frontage road, and rolled several times. Tragically, he died at the scene. The agency stated that Potter was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was the sole occupant of the vehicle. No other vehicles were involved, and investigators do not believe drugs, alcohol, or speeding were factors in the crash.

On Wednesday, the Fort Collins Coroner's Office released a statement revealing that Potter's death was caused by blunt force injuries to the head, deemed accidental by the coroner. "On June 8, 2024, the Larimer County Coroner's Office responded to investigate the death of a 40-year-old male involved in a single-vehicle rollover crash on SW Frontage Road in Fort Collins, Colorado," the statement read, identifying the deceased as Benny Potter of Windsor, CO.

Potter had been a fixture in the YouTube community for over a decade, a stalwart in the world of comic book fandom on the platform. With over 4,000 videos posted, he regularly engaged with fans, discussing the Marvel and DC universes with enthusiasm and expertise.
