Tear down the dusty old kill room, for Dexter Morgan's demise was merely a mirage. Dexter: Resurrection, the eagerly anticipated sequel to the iconic Dexter series, has unveiled its release date along with a tantalizing teaser trailer, once again bringing Michael C. Hall to the forefront as the infamous serial killer, Dexter Morgan.

Dexter Morgan Is Not Dead: ‘Dexter: Resurrection’ Sets Release Date 1

Dexter: Resurrection will make its debut with a double-episode premiere on Friday, July 11, exclusively available for streaming and on-demand through Paramount+ for Showtime subscribers. The episodes will then air on television on Sunday, July 13, at 8 p.m. Subsequent episodes will follow a weekly rollout schedule.

Under the helm of showrunner and executive producer Clyde Phillips, Dexter: Resurrection serves as a direct continuation of Dexter: New Blood, picking up right where the 2021 limited series left off. Dexter Morgan, revived after being shot by his son Harrison (Jack Alcott), awakens from a coma to find his son missing without a trace. Driven by guilt over the burden he placed on his son, Dexter embarks on a journey to New York City, determined to locate Harrison and set things straight. However, finding closure will be anything but straightforward. When Miami Metro's Angel Batista (David Zayas) arrives with probing questions, Dexter realizes that his shadowy past is rapidly catching up to him. As father and son navigate the unyielding darkness of the city that never sleeps, they plunge deeper than they ever imagined, discovering that their only path out lies in unity.

Joining Hall, Alcott, and Zayas in this gripping narrative are Uma Thurman as Charley, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, and Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera. Additionally, James Remar reprises his role as Dexter’s father, Harry Morgan, while Peter Dinklage stars as Leon Prater. (First-look photos of the stellar cast are available for a sneak peek.) Neil Patrick Harris, Krysten Ritter, Eric Stonestreet, and David Dastmalchian will also make guest appearances as Lowell, Mia, Al, and Gareth, respectively.

Production is currently in full swing in New York. Dexter: Resurrection is a production of Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios, with Hall also serving as an executive producer alongside Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, and Marcos Siega. Monica Raymund directs four episodes, while Marcos Siega helms six episodes. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

Prepare to be enthralled once more by the dark and twisted world of Dexter Morgan, as he struggles to reconcile with his past and forge a future with his son, amidst a web of deceit, danger, and redemption.
