Diddy wins major legal victory as sexual assault lawsuit is dismissed

Sean "Diddy" Combs, the music industry titan who once found himself entangled in grave allegations and incarcerated, has recently secured a significant legal victory, as one of the sexual assault lawsuits levied against him has been dismissed by the court. In October 2024, Diddy was slapped with a lawsuit by an anonymous woman referred to solely as Jane Doe. She alleged that the rapper had assaulted her at a party two decades prior, in 1995. However, on Monday, the case was thrown out by a federal judge after Jane Doe failed to submit an amended complaint using her true identity.

In a ruling obtained by PEOPLE Magazine, U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman declared: "On March 6, 2025, the Court denied the Plaintiff's motion to proceed anonymously and instructed her to file a complaint in her own name by March 20, 2025, failing which the case would be dismissed." He further stated, "As of March 31st, the Plaintiff has neither filed a complaint in her own name nor sought an extension to do so. Consequently, the case is dismissed."

Diddy's legal team hailed the decision, portraying it as further evidence of the frivolous nature of these accusations. They issued a statement asserting, "For several months, we have witnessed a spree of cases filed by individuals cloaking themselves in anonymity, orchestrated by attorneys more preoccupied with grabbing media attention than assessing legal merits. The other claims, akin to the one dismissed today, will similarly crumble in a court of law."
