Shania Twain's playful yet respectful banter with Brad Pitt has become a unique twist in their shared entertainment universe. Two decades after casually mentioning his name in her hit single "That Don't Impress Me Much," the country music superstar has made it clear there's no bad blood between them, despite never having met face-to-face.
In an October 26th interview on the Wood & Woody radio show, the 60-year-old Shania shared, "We've never met, and there are plenty of Hollywood celebrities I haven't met either. He must be impressed by that, right?" Her words dripped with a hint of mischief, as if she were teasing a long-lost friend.

The story behind the song's reference to Brad Pitt is as entertaining as the song itself. Shania revealed that while writing the single in 1997, she was caught in the midst of a media frenzy over Playgirl's publication of nude photos of the actor. "I was thinking, 'Okay, everyone in the world is in love with Brad Pitt right now,'" she recalled. "Everyone was gaga over those nude photos. And I was thinking, 'If anyone is making an impression on anyone...' That's why I picked on him."
Despite the joke, Shania imagines that Brad took it all in stride and is even open to discussing it if he ever decides to reach out. "Like he can seek me out, right?" she quipped on Wood & Woody. "I'm sure he has a great sense of humor."
The friendly yet humorous rivalry between them has even found its way onto social media. On an Instagram post celebrating Brad's 60th birthday in December 2023, Shania left a comment under a carousel of photos, writing, "That don't impress me much, but HBD," accompanied by a kissy face emoji. The comment perfectly encapsulates their light-hearted yet respectful relationship.
