Doja Cat, the 30-year-old pop sensation, is unafraid to confront critics, particularly in the digital realm. In a candid conversation with Vogue, she opened up about her habit of calling out her detractors on social media. "That's the question I've been waiting for," she said. "When I feel threatened, even if it's not a real threat, it's like a refrain in my head: 'You are failing.'"
Doja continued, "I feel like I have to defend my creative choices, and I give those people power, even if they're just ordinary people with Cheeto dust on their fingers and no job." When asked if she plans to stop this behavior, she replied, "I don't know. In life, you grow. We'll see where I am when I'm 50. If I'm still on Twitter doing stuff like that, who knows? Hopefully not."

The outlet further inquired if she actively seeks out negative comments online. Doja responded that artists "can be quite critical" of themselves and sometimes seek validation for their insecurities. She explained, "You feel like you're more in control in a sense. 'I've got it all figured out. I can't sing. I've got it all figured out. I'm ugly. I've got it all figured out. I have cankles.'" However, Doja believes this is a "useless way to spend your time."
"It doesn't do anything for you other than entertain a part of you that was built during your childhood, a part of you that is stuck in the past," she added.
