HBO has confirmed that 'Dune: Prophecy', a prequel to director Denis Villeneuve's epic film franchise, will grace our screens in November, with a precise date to be revealed soon.

Originally intended for HBO's streaming sibling, Max, this series will instead premiere under the prestigious HBO banner — a testament to its quality that will have it airing on cable and streaming on Max. This shift is part of a broader rebranding strategy at Warner Bros. Discovery, the parent company.

Alongside this exciting premiere announcement, HBO has unveiled a second teaser for 'Dune: Prophecy', showcasing fresh footage and richer dialogue compared to the first clip, which premiered in May. Watch the captivating new teaser below.

Set 10,000 years before the events of the recent films, 'Dune: Prophecy' is based on 'Sisterhood of Dune', a novel penned by Brian Herbert (the son of the legendary Dune author Frank Herbert) and Kevin J. Anderson. The series follows two Harkonnen sisters as they bravely face forces that threaten the future of humanity and lay the foundation for the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit.

Starring Emily Watson and Olivia Williams as the formidable Valya and Tula Harkonnen, the cast boasts a stellar ensemble including Travis Fimmel, Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Camilla Beeput, Jihae, Tabu, Charithra Chandran, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, and Yerin Ha.

The series is a collaborative effort between HBO and Legendary Television (the same studio behind the feature films). Alison Schapker serves as the showrunner and executive producer alongside Diane Ademu-John, who co-developed the series, Anna Foerster (directing multiple episodes), Brian Herbert, Byron Merritt, Kim Herbert (representing the Frank Herbert estate), and Jordan Goldberg, Mark Tobey, John Cameron, Matthew King, Scott Z. Burns, and Jon Spaihts. Anderson joins as a co-producer.
