The highly anticipated project helmed by the visionary creator of 'Monk,' Andy Breckman, draws inspiration from a captivating German series, igniting CBS's development pipeline with a fresh burst of energy. Marking the network's inaugural drama pilot order of this cycle, 'Einstein' promises to be a procedural masterpiece, centered around the fictional great-grandson of the legendary Albert Einstein.

Breckman, the mastermind behind the beloved 'Monk,' pens the script and assumes the pivotal role of showrunner, while Randy Zisk, another 'Monk' alumnus, lends his directorial prowess and EP expertise to the project. The pilot greenlight for 'Einstein' arrives on the heels of CBS's exciting news about two comedy endeavors: the single-camera comedy 'DMV' from Dana Klein (a seasoned writer of 'Friends' and '9JKL'), and the opening of a development room for the witty vampire comedy 'Eternally Yours,' steered by the dynamic duo of Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, the masterminds behind 'Ghosts.'

All three endeavors, crafted by CBS Studios, embody the network's year-round development strategy, which embraces diverse tracks tailored to various show genres. Additionally, CBS has already secured a series pickup for the 2025-26 season with 'Sheriff Country,' a thrilling spinoff of 'Fire Country.'

Diving into the intricacies of 'Einstein,' the pilot episode introduces us to the brilliant yet aimless college professor, the fictional heir to the great physicist's legacy. When fate intertwines him with legal entanglements, he's unexpectedly recruited to aid a police detective in unraveling her most perplexing cases.

Rooted in a German series that captivated audiences for three seasons on Sat.1, CBS has long nurtured aspirations to adapt this compelling narrative for American audiences, with previous attempts including collaborations with Breckman and Zisk in 2019. Fast-forwarding a year, the show underwent a gender-bent transformation under the pen of Lauren Gussis and EP Corinne Brinkerhoff, while NBC also explored a version in 2018, though none of these endeavors materialized.

Now, Breckman and Zisk reunite with Tariq Jalil, Rose Hughes, and the international team from Seven One Studios International, comprising Rodrigo Herrera Ibarguengoytia and Laura Beetz, to executive produce 'Einstein,' a project destined to ignite sparks and captivate hearts.
