Time Bandits – Season 1 Episode 5 1

Within the confines of a grandiose mansion, the legendary Casanova makes his entrance, a sight so captivating that it renders all the ladies present swooning in unison—yet Judy stands unfazed, merely observing him with a casual air. The gang stealthily navigates through the kitchen's backdoor, where Kevin liberates a canine companion before they transform their attire and infiltrate the opulent party.

Amidst the revelry, a towering stack of sandwiches catches their eye, a delightful indulgence attributed to the innovative Earl of Sandwich himself, who regales Kevin with tales of their gastronomic prowess. As Kevin indulges in the sandwich sophistication, Martha, the impeccable impresario of Theatre Royal, emerges, seeking Altoq for the lead role in her upcoming spectacle.

Meanwhile, Casanova finds himself inexplicably drawn to Judy, puzzled by her resistance to his charms. In a corner, Penelope showcases her signature party tricks, oblivious to the feline sentinel outside, and by extension, Pure Evil, who sighs in dismay at the gang's spoon-tinkering antics.

Yet, amidst all this commotion, the group's primary objective remains unchanged—to behold the exquisite pineapple, a rare delicacy whose worth, back then, amounted to a staggering £60, equivalent to a staggering £11,000 in today's currency, a testament to its unparalleled luxury and allure.

Kevin's insults escalate, casting aspersions on the Earl's vaunted sandwich-crafting prowess. This reckless provocation, alas, culminates in a challenge to a duel, the archaic ritual of honor threatened to unfold. But fate intervenes as Penelope, with a cringe-worthy display of bravery, steps forward to assume Kevin's place in this unwelcome confrontation.

Elsewhere, a pair of diminutive servants of the Supreme Being embark on a mission to uncover the secrets of the Bandits, their absence from the spotlight, a stark contrast to their cinematic predecessors of the '80s, leaving viewers to ponder the mysteries of casting choices.

As dawn breaks, Alto arrives at the theater, armed with lines to memorize and perform within the hour, only to find the Earl of Sandwich poised for battle. Penelope attempts a shot, but to the Earl's astonishment, their aim is merely a charade, an orchestrated miss designed not to inflict harm but to uphold an archaic tradition. Undeterred, they agree to retry.

Into this fray strides Alto, delivering a heartfelt soliloquy on the virtues of decency and Penelope's prowess as a leader. However, his timely intervention arrives too late, necessitating yet another attempt. This time, the stage is stolen by Fianna, who bursts in, hot on the heels of the elusive Bandits. The Earl, aghast, finds himself on the receiving end of Fianna's challenge, and despite a comical插曲 involving a sandwich lodged in his breast pocket, he succumbs to her shot, collapsing in a heap.

Outside, Fianna's pursuit is halted by a tenacious dog, while Casanova's efforts to detain Judy prove futile. Saffron, meanwhile, braves the frigid depths of the Ice Age, her resilience against the biting cold remarkable. The Bandits, meanwhile, slip through the portal's embrace, vanishing into the unknown, their fate shrouded in mystery.
