Elijah Wood, the beloved actor behind Frodo Baggins in "The Lord of the Rings," has finally lifted the veil on his potential return to the iconic franchise. During an interview at Fan Expo New Orleans with Screen Rant, the 44-year-old actor playfully danced around the rumors of reprising his role in "The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum," saying, "I can neither confirm nor deny. A wizard, after all, is to be trusted."

He further elaborated, "I'm not really allowed to confirm. But I'm really excited about the film. It feels like a creative reunion, with many of the original creative minds coming back together to explore this beloved character. Philippa Boyens is co-writing and producing it, and it's a true 'getting the band back together' to tell this story."

Elijah's excitement for Andy Serkis' direction was palpable. "It feels so fitting that he directs a film about his own character, which he's truly made his own," he said. "I'm thrilled for this project and excited to see where it goes and what other films they have planned in this universe."

For those unaware, "The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum" is slated for release in cinemas on December 17, 2027.
