Ashley St. Clair is unveiling the intricacies of her love life, shedding light on her decision to have a child with Elon Musk and the profound impact it had on their relationship. More than a year after announcing the birth of their son, she shared her reasons for embarking on this journey and how the pregnancy transformed their romance.
"At that juncture in my life, given my involvement in MAGA and the right-wing ideology, and already being a single mom," Ashley—who began a relationship with Elon in 2023—explained in her May 15 TikTok video, "the prospects of me walking down the aisle in a white dress seemed distant, as I was already 'stained' as a single mom. But I yearned to be a mother more than anything. I wanted more children."
The 27-year-old, who also shares a son from a previous relationship, emphasized that her primary concern about having more children was financial stability. "It's tough working and constantly wondering if you'll be able to pay your children's bills next month," she said. "When Elon suggested, 'You should have kids, my only limited resource is time,' it was appealing to do what I've always wanted—be a mom without worrying about the state of the economy."
"I don't think that's crazy reasoning," she added. "My kids will always be taken care of."
Ashley revealed that she and the Tesla CEO discussed her pregnancy during a trip to St. Barts, where she was ovulating. "But as soon as I got pregnant," she said, "everything started to feel strange. No one will believe me, but I swear he was so much more normal before I got pregnant. It was a normal conversation. His demeanor was normal. I know I'll get roasted for this, but in private, he was funny. He just got so f--king weird, man."
Despite Elon telling her that his coparenting relationships with his other exes were "hunky dory," Ashley admitted she was apprehensive about navigating such a complex situation. As she put it, "I'm realizing that I have to keep my head on a swivel and protect myself."
Ashley has also grappled with the sudden spotlight on her connection to the 54-year-old. "It's not even like I want some exclusivity with him," she explained. "I just don't want to be in this weird-ass position."
