Elsie Hewitt recently addressed the public's perception of her as a solo parent in the aftermath of her breakup with Pete Davidson, asserting that she is indeed the primary caregiver for their 5-month-old daughter, Scottie Rose. In a TikTok video shared on May 16th, the 30-year-old model forcefully refuted criticisms of her casual appearance in paparazzi photographs, stating, "I have a baby to take care of, and I also have to work and make money. It's not an easy task, especially when I'm doing it all on my own."
In the comments section, Hewitt engaged with users who expressed their concern about her financial situation. One user commented, "Not staying with your partner when they're postpartum is insane behavior," while another wrote, "I hope you don't mean you're doing the financial part alone... That would be insane given the circumstances. You seem like a lovely person and a wonderful mother! We're all rooting for you." In response, Hewitt appeared to confirm their concern by writing, "I am :)" before deleting the comment.

The same day, Hewitt shared a post on her Instagram Stories announcing that she is seeking assistance in raising her child. She wrote, "I'm currently trying to find an assistant/mother's helper/nanny type/basically a right-hand person. Apply here if qualified & serious. Only looking at responses with resumes." The position, she noted, would be paid.
In response to these claims, a source close to Davidson told PEOPLE that Pete has made himself "extremely available" and has provided "full financial support." The insider added, "He is actually covering all Scottie's costs and more. He is hoping for Elsie's good health and success for the sake of their daughter."
News of the breakup between Hewitt and Davidson broke days after their social media posts. An inside source told PEOPLE exclusively that the couple is not getting along and was already struggling while Elsie was pregnant. They added that the pair is "trying to work through" how they will co-parent their daughter.
Prior to the breakup, a source told PEOPLE that the couple was actively trying to navigate their relationship struggles together following the birth of their daughter. "There are issues, but they're trying to figure things out together," the source said. "They're adjusting to parenthood and working through the process."
