Emotional Fergie Reunites With Black Eyed Peas "Brothers" at AMAs 2026

Fergie was more than ready to ignite that reunion spark. Almost a decade after leaving the Black Eyed Peas, the singer marked a significant milestone alongside will.i.am, Taboo, and apl.de.ap. The group's 2010 hit "Rock That Body" outshone Goo Goo Dolls' "Iris" and 4 Non Blondes' "What's Up?" to claim the 2026 American Music Award for Best Throwback Song. (View all winners here.) For Fergie, it was a poignant reminder of her years with the bandmates and the enduring impact of their work.

"What an incredible moment," she said on stage at the May 25 event hosted by Queen Latifah. "I want to thank all our fans for voting for this so I can stand here with my lifelong friends and brothers, the Black Eyed Peas. In honor of this special song and era, 'Rock That Body,' there are countless memories associated with it."

Despite the numerous hits she created with the Black Eyed Peas over the years, it was 'Rock That Body' that finally got her and her ex-husband Josh Duhamel's son Axl, 12, to listen to their work. As Fergie revealed, she wanted to thank everyone who made TikToks and Instagram videos that made this moment possible so that her son could add their song to his playlist.

"To all our supporters who have created content throughout the years, thank you so much," she continued. "Sometimes, the content you create is so profound and the emotions are so intense for me that it's overwhelming to see how much love you put into it. I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. I see you, and you mean so much."

Holding tightly onto will.i.am and Taboo's hands throughout her speech, Fergie went on to give a heartfelt shoutout to her tween. "And I get to say this now," she teased, "I finally, finally get to say this on TV: 'Hi Axl!' 'Rock That Body,' we did it!"

Of course, in the years since Fergie and the Black Eyed Peas parted ways in 2018, their bond has remained strong. In fact, with all three turning 50 in 2025 (Apl turned 50 in 2024), they all came together for a birthday bash.

"Finally got to break bread and celebrate our milestone birthdays together," Fergie wrote on Instagram in December. "What a special night with my brothers, filled with so much love."
