Maria Bello has bestowed upon her spouse, Dominique Crenn, an unconventional anniversary present—a divorce petition. The 58-year-old actress, who officially initiated divorce proceedings on Wednesday, revealed to TMZ that the couple had already parted ways on April 7th, marking precisely one year since their wedding day. Bello cited "irreconcilable differences" as the underlying cause for their separation.

Crenn, a culinary legend and the sole American woman to have garnered three Michelin stars, shares no children with Bello, thus eliminating the need for negotiations regarding custody or financial support. According to documents obtained by TMZ, Bello has requested that both parties come to a written agreement concerning alimony and that the expenses of mediation be divided evenly between them. Whether the couple had a prenuptial agreement in place remains undisclosed.

Bello and Crenn, 60, first publicly acknowledged their blossoming romance in 2020, revealing their engagement status. Last May, they shared the news of their hush-hush nuptials, which took place in Cabo San Lucas in April, attended by celebrities such as Patricia Arquette, Gavin Rossdale, and Mariska Hargitay. Bello came out publicly in 2013 through an article in The New York Times. She is the mother of a 24-year-old son, Jackson Blue McDermott, from a previous relationship with Dan McDermott, while Crenn dotes on her 10-year-old twins, Olivia and Charlotte.
