Erin Bates Paine is on the road to recovery. The former star of *Bringing Up Bates* has been transferred to a new medical facility after experiencing complications following the birth of her seventh child, her husband, Chad Paine, revealed.
"Her journey to recovery is neither swift nor effortless, but we are profoundly grateful for every tiny stride forward," Chad penned on Instagram on September 9. "It has shattered my heart to witness Erin endure such immense pain, yet her ability to raise her voice in praise to the Lord amidst it all has been nothing less than awe-inspiring."
Highlighting Erin's "kindness and gratitude toward those caring for her," Chad—who shares children Carson, 10; Brooklyn, 8; Everly, 7; Holland, 5; Finley, 3; William, 22 months; and Henry, just two weeks old, with Erin—remarked that his wife of 11 years remains "a beacon of light wherever she goes."
Chad further shared that a new team of doctors is now collaborating to facilitate Erin's improvement following her diagnosis of septic shock. "The nurses have shown incredible compassion and have become like family to us," the devoted patriarch continued, adding that he and Erin "miss our babies more than words can convey" as they navigate this challenging chapter in her healing process.
Erin's health crisis began on August 25, when her labor proved to be "longer and more intense than her previous births" as she welcomed her youngest son, Henry, Chad explained. "Erin developed a severe urinary tract infection and kidney infection," he wrote in a September 1 Instagram post, "which triggered septic shock."
The 34-year-old was admitted to the intensive care unit, where Chad described her as "spending hours only semi-conscious." "As her husband, it's been one of the most arduous experiences of my life—to sit by her side and watch her battle while feeling utterly powerless to alleviate her suffering," he shared at the time. "I love her more deeply than words can express, and the thought of life without my best friend is unimaginable."
