The melancholic news of the demise of Jackson Browne's son, Ethan, a model, actor, and musician, was announced on Wednesday by the singer-songwriter himself via his official Facebook account. The post, saddened by the loss of Ethan on the morning of November 25th, 2025, shared that the 52-year-old had been found unresponsive in his home. The cause of death remains unknown.

Ethan's life was a tapestry of artistic pursuits, having modeled for designers such as Isaac Mizrahi and starred in films like 1995's 'Hackers' alongside Angelina Jolie and Jonny Lee Miller, as well as 2004's 'Raising Helen' with Kate Hudson. He also ventured into music, collaborating with Cat Colbert in the duo Alain Zane, whose father Charles Colbert played bass for Harry Belafonte and others. Their debut album, 'Right Before Your Eyes,' was released in 2022.
Born on November 2nd, 1973, Ethan was the son of Jackson Browne and model Phyllis Major. At just six months old, he appeared on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine with his father. Unfortunately, Major passed away by suicide in March 1976, when Ethan was just two years old.
In 2021, Jackson opened up about being a single dad and pursuing a music career. "I only had two things that I hoped I could fit together: being a songwriter and a father," he said. "But life's not like that and you don't get a notice in the mail saying you're blowing it as a parent. You think you have the advice and the help you need, and sometimes you don't, or you don't heed it." Jackson also has another son, Ryan, with ex-wife Lynne Sweeney. The eight-time Grammy nominee is a member of both the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
