Sharon Stone has secured a role in the eagerly anticipated third season of "Euphoria." The Oscar-nominee will join an ensemble that includes Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Eric Dane, and Maude Apatow, in the long-delayed third chapter of the series. Sharing her excitement through a statement posted on the show's social media platforms, Stone remarked, "Few things ignite my enthusiasm more than collaborating with this stellar team of mesmerizing talents. From the brilliant mind of [creator and showrunner] Sam Levinson to the raw elegance of this profoundly moving cast and its cohesive crew, I am deeply honored to be part of the 'Euphoria' family."
For the time being, the specifics surrounding Stone's character remain a well-guarded secret. Nevertheless, fans eagerly anticipate seeing the star share screen time with Demie's character, Maddy Perez, a fervent admirer of the fashion displayed in Stone's 1995 film "Casino."
The third season of this dark teenage drama has been in the pipeline for quite some time, following the premiere of the second installment in 2022. Earlier this year, a sneak peek from the upcoming episodes was unveiled, revealing Zendaya reprising her role as Rue Bennett. The production delays will be seamlessly integrated into the narrative through a time jump, explaining the visible aging of the actors since the first batch of episodes.
While Stone has gracefully joined the "Euphoria" ensemble, there are遗憾地some cast members who won't be returning for chapter three. Unfortunately, fans won't witness more of Barbie Ferreira's Kat Hernandez, as the actress previously announced her departure from the show. Moreover, actor Angus Cloud, who portrayed Fezco, passed away at the age of 25 in July 2023. At the end of last year, Stormy Reid confirmed that she would no longer appear as Rue's younger sister, Gia. Reflecting on her time with the show, Reid stated in November, "Unfortunately, Gia won't be returning for the third season, but I am immensely grateful to the cast, crew, and HBO for this incredible journey."
"Euphoria" airs on HBO and streams on Max in the United States, and is available on Sky Atlantic and Sky Go/NOW in the United Kingdom.
