As anticipated, Euphoria roared back with staggering ratings after the premiere of season 3. These figures represent a jaw-dropping 44% surge from the season 2 debut, effectively cushioning the creators from some of the backlash after episode one aired.

Observers were not surprised by these explosive numbers, particularly after the season 3 trailer, which registered a solid 157 million views in just 2 days, crushing season 2's record by 57%. However, the chaos-fueled show is not without its controversies. For instance, in episode one of season 3, Sydney Sweeney's character, Cassie Howard's, OnlyFans plot rubbed some viewers the wrong way.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, series creator Sam Levinson defended the storyline. "Cassie has her dog-like features with her little dog ears and nose, which has its own humor," he said. "But what truly makes the scene is the fact that her housekeeper is the one filming it."

"What we always wanted to find was another layer of absurdity that we could tie into it so that we're not too inside her fantasy or illusion – the gag is to jump out and break the wall," Levinson added.

Euphoria season 3 is now streaming on HBO Max.
