Evan Peters is eagerly anticipating his return to the realm of "American Horror Story," and he's not the only one. From the debut season "Murder House" in 2011 to the latest "Double Feature" in 2021 and the seven seasons in between, Peters has been a prominent face in the horror series created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Now, after several years away, the actor is set to reunite with Murphy for season 13, which also includes previous series stars like Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, and Leslie Grossman.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday for his new FX show "The Beauty," which marks his next collaboration with Murphy following the mega-hit "Dahmer: Monster - The Jeffrey Dahmer Story," Peters shared what brought him back to the beloved horror series. "First and foremost, it's working with Ryan again," he said. "But secondly, he's assembled a cast from all the different seasons. It's like an alumni reunion, and we're all getting back together for this greatest-hits season. I'm excited to see what he writes and what it brings. The chance to work with Sarah, Jessica, Kathy, Angela again, and everyone involved is a definite plus."

When asked if he was particularly surprised to learn that Lange was returning, Peters responded with a laugh, "Yes! Ryan knows how to have those dinners. He'll get you in a second. I was definitely shocked but thrilled, honestly." Lange previously starred in the series for its first four seasons and became a fan favorite alongside Peters. In season one, she played Constance, the mother of Peters' character, Tate.

Since leaving the show in 2015 (aside from a brief appearance in season eight's "Apocalypse," reprising her role as Constance), Lange repeatedly denied that she would ever return to Murphy's series. "Oh Christ, no. I haven't done it for more than 10 or 12 years, so no, I'm not doing it," she told Irish radio station SPIN 1038 when asked if she would consider returning for a final season. She laughed and said, "No."

In 2019, the Oscar-winning actress again denied a return, noting, "I feel like I got the best of it in those first four seasons." In addition to the alumni-filled cast, season 13 will add Ariana Grande to the group. The "Wicked" star is a longtime fan of the series and previously worked with Peters in her 2024 music video "We Can't Be Friends," where he played her love interest.

Season 13 is rumored to begin filming early next month and is expected to premiere on FX on Oct. 31.
