Ewan McGregor brought an extraordinary plus-one to the glittering 2025 Critics' Choice Awards – his beloved daughter Jamyan, now 23. By her father's side, the Scottish star transformed the star-studded event into an enchanting father-daughter evening out. This red carpet appearance marked a rare public outing for the 'Star Wars' actor and his daughter, whom he welcomed into his life through adoption in April 2006, alongside his ex-wife Eve Mavrakis. The former couple are also parents to Clara, 29, Esther, 23, and Anouk, 14. Additionally, Ewan shares a 3-year-old son, Laurie, with his current wife, Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

For this special occasion, the 53-year-old Ewan and Jamyan coordinated in stylish monochromatic black ensembles. The Emmy-winner, who was presenting at the awards, donned a classic black suit with silky lapels, paired with a matching top and buckle loafers. Jamyan, meanwhile, stunned in a little black dress featuring a square neckline, complemented by calf-length boots and dazzling statement earrings that added a sparkle to her look. Her hair was elegantly styled in a high bun.

Although public appearances together are few and far between for the father-daughter duo, Ewan cherishes celebrating special moments with his children. On September 12, 2024, he brought Clara, Jamyan, Anouk, Laurie, and Winstead to his Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony. The family radiated joy as Ewan accepted this iconic honor. A few months prior, he, Winstead, Clara, and Jamyan attended the New York City premiere of his show 'A Gentleman in Moscow.'

In a 2008 interview with PEOPLE, Ewan opened up about parenthood and how technology helped keep his family close, even when miles apart. At the time, he was embarking on a global motorcycle tour. Although he admitted to not being "the sort of dad who carries pictures around in his wallet," he emphasized that he was constantly thinking about his family and found great comfort in being able to hear their voices over the phone.

Last year, in a conversation with Variety, Ewan revealed how deeply he connected with his role as Count Alexander Rostov in 'A Gentleman in Moscow,' who becomes a caretaker of a young girl. "I realized while we were shooting, 'Oh, this is an adoption story.' I like that part of it because I love that part of my life," he said. "I think it’s true that we are two different people before and after having children. You don’t fully grasp the responsibility of another human life until someone calls you Dad."

Jamyan, born in June 2001, was adopted from Mongolia when she was just 4 years old. Ewan first met her at a children's shelter while filming a TV show in 2004 and has since spoken openly about her adoption in his 2020 Apple TV+ docuseries, 'Long Way Up.'
