The beloved family of Tito Jackson has bid farewell to their cherished musician. Following the passing of the original Jackson 5 member at the age of 70 on September 5, a poignant funeral service was held in his honor at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Los Angeles on Monday, November 4. According to photographs acquired by PEOPLE, Michael Jackson's children, Paris and Bigi (formerly known as Blanket), were present at their uncle's memorial service. Paris, aged 26, was seen dressed in a stylish black dress paired with black boots, while Bigi, 22, wore a solemn black suit complemented by a crisp white button-down shirt and tie.
The Daily Mail reported that La Toya Jackson and Marlon Jackson were also among the mourners, along with two of Jermaine Jackson's children, Jaafar Jackson and Jermajesty Jackson. Kimora Lee Simmons, the ex-wife of music mogul Russell Simmons, was listed among the attendees at the funeral by the New York Post's Page Six.
On the fateful day of Tito's demise, the musician experienced a sudden medical emergency at a shopping center in New Mexico. The Gallup Police Department confirmed in a press release to PEOPLE that officers were notified around 6:15 p.m. on September 5 of "an individual requiring medical attention" near the American Heritage Plaza in Gallup, N.M. The individual, subsequently identified as Tito, was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was tragically pronounced dead.
Last month, Tito's sister Janet posted a heartfelt tribute to him on her Instagram Stories. "May you rest in eternal peace. I miss you so much!" she wrote alongside a nostalgic black-and-white photograph of a young Janet standing beside her elder brother, who wore a fedora and a printed shirt.
The iconic Jackson family tree, besides Tito and Janet, boasts siblings Rebbie, 74, Jackie, 73, Jermaine, 69, La Toya, 68, Marlon, 67, and Brandon, who passed away soon after birth in 1957, as well as the late Michael and Randy, 62. Tito was also a doting father to his sons Taj, 51, Taryll, 49, and TJ, 46, from his marriage to ex-wife Delores "Dee Dee" Martes.
Taj, TJ, and Taryll, who perform together as the group 3T, shared a joint heartfelt post in tribute to their father after his passing. "With heavy hearts, we announce that our beloved father, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee Tito Jackson, has left us. We are shocked, saddened, and deeply heartbroken," they wrote. "Our father was an incredible man who cared deeply for everyone's well-being. Some may know him as Tito Jackson from the legendary Jackson 5, some as 'Coach Tito,' and some as 'Poppa T.' Regardless, he will be profoundly missed. For us, it will always be 'Tito Time.' Please remember to follow our father's enduring message: 'Love One Another.' We love you, Pops," they concluded.
