The trailer teases that "Barzakh" will delve into themes of profound interconnectedness and the enduring power of love, intricately incorporating local folklore into its narrative. It poses the intriguing question: "When all fades away, does love remain standing?"

Produced by Waqas Hassan and Shailja Kejriwal for Zindagi, the six-episode series is a part of the Indian subcontinent-focused programming block on ZEE5 Global. Helmed by the critically acclaimed director Asim Abbasi, who also directed Zindagi's groundbreaking Pakistani original "Churails" and the Oscar-nominated Pakistani feature film "Cake," "Barzakh" promises to be nothing short of extraordinary.

Khan enthused, "After witnessing the brilliance of 'Cake,' when the opportunity to work on 'Barzakh' presented itself, I eagerly grasped it. Asim's work is unparalleled, focusing on character development in a refreshingly contemporary manner. I've always yearned to take on projects that defy the norm, and 'Barzakh' is indeed unconventional. It's a daring experiment, and I am thoroughly enamored with it."

"The dynamic duo of Asim and Shailja truly brings a spark to the collaboration. Their mutual understanding of each other's sensibilities and aesthetics has streamlined the entire process with ease," Khan elaborated. "As a producer, Waqas' ability to breathe life into this story is nothing but remarkable, and his dedication to the craft is truly admirable." This series marks the reunion of Khan and Saeed, after their triumphant show "Zindagi Gulzar Hai" (2012). "Collaborating with Sanam once again feels like a comfortable reunion," Khan said with a smile. "I thoroughly enjoyed it, trusting her skills to make my job effortless. I sincerely hope you find joy in watching this as much as we did in creating it."

Saeed added with enthusiasm, "Being a part of 'Barzakh' has been a profoundly enriching experience. The show's captivating premise, delving into the themes of family, love, loss, and the afterlife, has held my interest from the start. As an actor, I constantly seek roles that challenge me and offer a fresh take on storytelling. 'Barzakh' fulfills this pursuit, presenting a narrative that transcends traditional boundaries and delves into the mysterious and unknown."

"From the moment Asim narrated the story to me, I knew I had to be a part of this remarkable project," Saeed continued. "Asim has always been a pioneer in exploring the unknown, which is why I've always admired him. The prospect of reuniting with a stellar actor like Fawad and sharing the screen with Salman Shahid, Sajid Hasan, and the other Fawad [M. Fawad Khan], whom I've had the privilege of working closely with in theater, adds to the excitement. Shailja, as always, has been a dream to work with as a producer. With the global release of 'Barzakh,' I eagerly anticipate taking the viewers into a world of wonders beyond imagination." After its acclaimed premiere at Series Mania in France, "Barzakh" will be streaming worldwide on Zindagi's YouTube channel and ZEE5 Global from July 19.
