'Gen V' Season 2 Adds Hamish Linklater to Cast

Hamish Linklater has gracefully joined the ranks of Season 2 of "Gen V" on Amazon Prime Video, as confirmed by Variety. Linklater will embody the enigmatic character of Cipher, described as the newly appointed Dean of Godolkin University, a charismatic and alluring figure. Trained as a scientist, he exudes political brilliance and commands the trust and admiration of officials at the highest echelons of power.

This exciting spinoff of the popular Prime Video series "The Boys" follows the students of Godolkin University as they embark on their journey to become superheroes. Linklater joins a stellar cast that already boasts Jaz Sinclair, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, and Asa Germann. While Chance Perdomo, who starred in Season 1, tragically passed away in a motorcycle accident in March, the producers of the series have honored his memory by deciding not to recast his role.

Linklater's recent credits include a captivating portrayal of US President Abraham Lincoln in the Apple TV+ series "Manhunt." His illustrious television resume also showcases roles in "Gaslit," "Midnight Mass," "Fargo," "Legion," and "The New Adventures of Old Christine." As a director, his debut feature, an adaptation of Chuck Klosterman's "Downtown Owl," was recently released by Sony Pictures, with Lily Rabe co-directing and Linklater penning the screenplay. His film credits also include notable roles in "The Big Short," "Dead for a Dollar," and "42."
