George Clooney, at the age of 64, has announced in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail, published on December 12th, that he has decided to put an end to on-screen kissing with female costars, following a heartfelt conversation with his wife, Amal Clooney. "I've been trying to follow in the footsteps of Paul Newman - 'Okay, I'm not kissing a girl anymore,'" George shared. "When I turned 60, I had a chat with my wife. I said, 'Look, I can still play basketball with the boys. I hang out with 25-year-old guys. I'm in shape. But in 25 years, I'll be 85. It doesn't matter how many granola bars you eat, that's a real number,'" he added with a hint of humor.

Throughout his illustrious career, George has starred in numerous romantic films, including Ticket to Paradise with Julia Roberts in 2022, Intolerable Cruelty with Catherine Zeta-Jones in 2003, and One Fine Day with Michelle Pfeiffer in 1996. In September 2022, while promoting his movie with Roberts, the Oscar winner shared a tale about a director criticizing his kissing scene. "I remember early on in my career, I had to do a kissing scene with this girl, and the director went, 'Not like that.' And I was like, 'Dude, that’s my move! That’s what I do in real life!'" George recalled.
In the same interview, he revealed that it took him and Roberts several attempts to get their one kissing scene right. "Yeah. I told my wife, 'It took 80 takes,'" he said. "She was like, 'What the hell?'" "It took 79 takes of us laughing and then the one take of us kissing," Roberts added, to which George responded, "Well, we had to get it right."
In November, the actor opened up about the secret to their lasting marriage with Amal, 47, in an interview with CBS News. "Well, when you're younger, you want to be right about everything, you know. 'Don't paint that color on the wall,'" George said. "And you know, Amal and I – everybody gets ticked off when I say it – but we've never had a fight. We never had an argument. And some of it is because I'm at this point in life where if she wants to paint the wall red, I don't care," he continued with a smile.
George and Amal were introduced by a friend in July 2013 and began dating. The actor proposed in April 2014 and they tied the knot that September. The couple shares 8-year-old twins, Alexander and Ella.
