On Friday, girl group BINI made history as they became the first act from the Philippines to perform at Coachella. The eight-member girl group, comprising members Aiah, Colet, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, Jhoanna, and Sheena, made their Coachella debut on the Mojave stage. They performed a 45-minute set that included several of the group's hit songs.
Taking the stage in intricate gold dresses, BINI wore these during their opening song "Shagidi." At the end of the song, the women tore off the gold outfits to reveal blue-turquoise beaded looks that they wore for the remainder of the performance. "We are BINI, all the way from the Philippines," the group shouted to the cheering crowd as they introduced themselves. Fans in the audience raised the flag of the Philippines.
"We are so happy to be here to represent the Philippines on the global stage and to share with you guys our music," Aiah told the crowd. Since their 2020 debut, BINI has continued to bring Pinoy pop, a.k.a P-pop, to the global stage. The group was formed through Filipino media company ABS-CBN's series Star Hunt Academy. The eight-member outfit, known as the nation's girl group in the Philippines, shot to viral fame with their tropical pop single "Pantropiko."
The girl group released their third EP, Signals, on Thursday ahead of their Coachella debut. They performed the album's single "Blush" during their Coachella set. BINI will return for Coachella's second weekend on April 17.
The 2026 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Sabrina Carpenter, Justin Bieber, and Karol G are headlining the desert music festival with Addison Rae, KATSEYE, PinkPantheress, BigBang, The XX, Laufey, The Strokes, and Young Thug among other performers taking the stage at Coachella.
