Katseye member Manon Bannerman has announced her indefinite hiatus from the group, with the K-Pop collective sharing the news on Friday through a Weverse post.
"After thoughtful and open conversations together, we are sharing that Manon will be taking a temporary break from group activities to prioritize her health and wellbeing," the post began. "We fully support this decision. Katseye remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us. The group will continue with its scheduled activities during this time, and we look forward to being together again when the time is right," it continued.

The statement thanked fans for their "continued love, patience, and understanding."
The announcement came weeks after Katseye's performance at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on February 1st. The six-member girl group received nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their song "Gabriela."
"Thank you for standing by me," Bannerman, 23, commented on the post. "I love you endlessly and can't wait to see you again." No timeline has been given for Bannerman's return.
The group, which also includes Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel, Sophia Laforteza, and Yoonchae Jeung, was formed during the 2023 reality competition series "The Debut: Dream Academy." They released their first single, "Debut," in June 2024 and have since released two EPs, "SIS (Soft is Strong)" and "Beautiful Chaos," alongside multiple singles.
The band has previously discussed the pressures of their rise to fame and the online scrutiny that came with it. Last year in an interview with the BBC, the group said they had received thousands of death threats since forming.
"I try to tell myself it doesn't matter, but if 1,000 people are sending you death threats, it's jarring," Raj told the outlet. She described how people view the band as "women to rank," calling it "so dystopian."
Bannerman further called the experience at the time "very terrorizing on the mind."
