The highly anticipated reimagining of Sherlock Holmes by Guy Ritchie has finally unveiled its teaser trailer, igniting excitement for the upcoming Prime Video series titled Young Sherlock. The series stars Hero Fiennes Tiffin (known for his role in After) as a youthful Holmes, who finds himself enrolled at the University of Oxford in 1870. Ritchie, known for his 2009 film Sherlock Holmes starring Robert Downey Jr. and its sequel, directs the first two episodes and serves as executive producer.

Described as an origin story for the famous detective, Young Sherlock takes us back to a time when Holmes is a disgraced and raw young man. When he becomes embroiled in a murder case that threatens his liberty, his first case unravels a globe-trotting conspiracy that changes his life forever. The series unfolds in the 1870s Oxford and abroad, showcasing the early antics of the anarchic adolescent who is yet to evolve into Baker Street's most renowned resident.
The cast includes Dónal Finn (The Wheel of Time), Zine Tseng (3 Body Problem), Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid's Tale), Natascha McElhone (Halo), Max Irons (Condor), and Colin Firth (The King's Speech). The series is created for television and is executive produced by showrunner Matthew Parkhill, along with Dhana Rivera Gilbert, Marc Resteghini, Simon Maxwell, Ivan Atkinson, Simon Kelton, and Colin Wilson.
Get ready to be transported back in time to the early days of one of literature's most adapted characters—Sherlock Holmes—when Young Sherlock premieres on March 4, 2026.
