Gwyneth Paltrow has opened up about an unexpected challenge in her marriage: enjoying the holiday season with a husband who can’t stand it. The Oscar-winning actress confessed that she often feels "alone" during Christmas because her husband, Brad Falchuk, dislikes nearly every festive tradition she adores.

On her Goop podcast, Paltrow revealed that she and Falchuk approach the holidays from completely different angles. While she immerses herself in the season with music, decorations, and family rituals, Falchuk prefers none of it. The star even joked that her husband is a "Grinch," explaining that his lack of enthusiasm sometimes leaves her feeling isolated. "My husband is a little bit of a Grinch, so he's the opposite," she said, adding with a laugh, "But I love the decorations, I love the Frank Sinatra Christmas album. I really get into the holiday spirit."
Paltrow didn't hold back when describing Falchuk's holiday aversions. "Brad is the worst," she said with a chuckle. "He hates Christmas music, he hates Christmas decorations, he hates roast turkey—he hates the traditional dinner." When asked if Falchuk looks forward to anything during the season, she admitted, "He looks forward to it being over."
Despite her husband's indifference, Paltrow shared that their children embrace the festivities. With daughter Apple and son Moses, whom she shares with ex-husband Chris Martin, along with Falchuk's children, Isabella and Brody, the house is still filled with excitement. "I feel very alone in my house in my love for Christmas, although all the kids love it, so they're on my side," she quipped with a smile.
The actress further shared that she and the kids always spend the holidays together, celebrating both Christmas and Hanukkah. "We have a really fun Christmas morning. We usually take a long time to open presents. And then we have a long walk on the beach, eat, and stay in our pajamas all day."
